The Milwaukee Bucks will be on the road this Thursday evening, January 17, as they travel to the Arizona for an NBA betting matchup against the Phoenix Suns that is set to take place at the US Airways Center, with tip off scheduled for 9:05 PM EST.
The Oddsmakers are giving a very narrow advantage to the home team in this contest, as they have listed the Suns as -1 point favorites, while posting an over/under total at 196 points.
Milwaukee enters play tonight just one game above .500, with 19 wins and 18 losses on the season. However, their record against the spread when traveling has proven to be much better, as they have earned 11 ATS wins in 18 road games this season. The Bucks offense is good for about 96 points per game, which ranks 16th best in the NBA.
Meanwhile, the Suns have been awful all season and as it stands right now, they have only accumulated 13 wins on the season compared to 27 losses; which has them in last place in the Pacific Division. They are also bad against the spread, especially at home where they have covered just seven of 20 games. Phoenix shoots 44.5 percent from the field, which ranks 16th best in the league.
The Bucks are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following an against the spread loss, but just 1-4 ATS in their last five games played on a Thursday. They have gone over the posted total in six of their last eight games when facing a team from the Pacific Division.
The Suns are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games versus Eastern Conference opponents and 4-1 against the spread in their last five contests played on a Thursday. The Suns have stayed under the posted total in 11 of their last 12 games played at home.
Milwaukee is the better team and even though this is a road game for them, I expect a one-sided matchup in this one, as they will easily win this game outright sending Phoenix to yet another loss on the season.
