The Chicago Bulls will be on the road this Friday evening, December 7 for a betting matchup against the Detroit Pistons that is set to take place at The Palace Of Auburn Hills, with tip off schedule for 7:35 PM EST.
The Oddsmakers have set the line listing the visiting Bulls as a slim -2 1/2 point favorite, while posting the over/under total at a low 182 points.
The Bulls enter this contest with a less than impressive overall record of 9-8 and an even worse ATS record of just 5-12 after 17 games played so far this season. They are a modest 4-3 against the spread when playing on the road, and when listed as a favorite they are a poor 4-8 in twelve chances thus far.
Meanwhile, the Pistons are just 6-14 straight up, but are slightly better against the spread, with a 9-11 record. At home they are 5-4 ATS and when listed as the underdog, which has happened 14 times in the early going, they are 7-7 versus the number. Detroit scores 93.2 points a night, which ranks 25th best in the NBA.
The Bulls are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games played on a Friday, but just 4-11 against the spread in their last 15 games played overall.
Chicago has stayed under the total in five consecutive games played on a Friday.
The Pistons are 4-0 against the spread in their last four matchups against teams in their own division, but are only 3-7 ATS in their last ten games played on a Friday.
Detroit has stayed under the posted total in four of their last five games overall.
The Bulls are obviously a much better team than the Pistons even though they haven’t really produced against the number this season. That said, I expect the Bulls to get a straight up win on the road, while also covering the point spread in this contest versus the Pistons.
Bulls – 2 1/2
