NBA Wednesday: Two more teams on the brink, Knicks/Heat, Clippers/Grizzles
May 9th, 2012 by PJ LaFerla
Last night we witnessed three of the four teams on the brink of elimination survive another day in the post season. For Wednesday, the NBA Playoffs features two more contests in a win or go home situation as the New York Knicks visit the Miami Heat in South Beach and the Memphis Grizzles play host to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Below is a review of each series after the first four games and the odds for tonight’s match-ups.
New York Knicks at Miami Heat:
Heat lead series 3-1
Besides being the better team, the Heat are a lot healthier than the injury-plagued Knicks. Carmelo Anthony did what he had to do in game 4 to ensure at least one win for New York. However, the Heat want to end this series tonight and prepare themselves for the Pacers in the next round.
Tonight’s game 5 matchup has the Oddsmakers listing the Heat as a -11 point home favorite, while posting the over/under total at 183.

Los Angeles Clippers at Memphis Grizzles:
Clippers lead series 3-1
The Grizzles find themselves down 3-1 in the series and on the brink of elimination, but oddly enough they are the team that could very well have the series lead. In their three losses to the Clippers in this opening round – they have combined for a total of 6 points, including two games by one point each. If they can find a way to get it done in the final minutes, then they have a shot to stretch this series to seven games, but history is not on their side.
Tonight’s game 5 matchup has the Oddsmakers listing the Grizzles as a -6 point home favorite, while posting the over/under total at 183.5.
