The Portland Trail Blazers will be on the road this Tuesday evening, January 15, as they travel to the mile high city for an NBA betting matchup against the Denver Nuggets that is set to take place at the Pepsi Center, with tip off scheduled for 9:05 PM EST.
The Oddsmakers are giving a heavy advantage to the home team in this contest, as they have listed the Nuggets as -9 point favorites, while posting an over/under total at 202 1/2 points.
Portland enters play tonight three games above .500, with 20 wins and 17 losses on the season. However, they are losers against the spread with a 17-18-2 record, but on the road it is even worse, as they have covered just 8 of 19 games so far this season. In the underdog role, Portland is 12-11-1 this season.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets have won five games in a row and are now an impressive 23-14 on the season, which also happenes to match their against the spread numbers as well. However, Denver owns a stellar 11-5 ATS mark when playing on their home floor this season and a respectable 16-10 ATS record as a favorite.
Portland is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games played on the road and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four versus Western Conference opponents. Seven of Portland’s last ten road games have gone over the posted total.
Denver is 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games played at home and 6-1 against the spread in their last seven matchups played on a Tuesday. Five of Denver’s last seven matchups against Western Conference opponents have stayed under the posted total.
Denver has been playing very well lately and that much better at home. I expect them to handle the Trail Blazers with ease tonight en route to the straight up win and point spread cover.
