NBA Conference Semi-Final Action Red Hot
May 7th, 2009 by admin
March Madness gives way to May Madness, and the NBA play-offs turn over a new leaf as teams head into the conference semi-final games. The action has been intense, and many teams have performed remarkably despite many obstacles in their path ( ahem…. The Boston Celtics ).
The Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakes finished up playing in Game 2, with the Lakers winning 111-98 in convincing fashion. On the other end of the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets lead the Dallas Mavericks 2-0 in the series. Rockets/Laker next contest is on Friday, while Denver/Dallas head into game 3 on Saturday.
Action in the NBA Eastern conference semis has also commenced. Not surprisingly, the Cleveland Cavaliers continue their winning ways leading the Atlanta Hawks 1-0 in the series. Can the Cavaliers sweep this one , too? Not sure - but either way, winning the last 5 of 5 is impressive. The next game is tomorrow, May 7.
The heroics of the Boston Celtics continue, despite the absence of star player Kevin Garnett. Without Garnett, many wrote off the Celtics’ chances this year, but if we learned anything from their series with the Bulls, the Celtics have stamina and quite a bit of talent. In game two of their semi-final matchup with the Dallas Magic, the Celtics won 112-94.
