The New York Knicks travel to “The Big Easy” this Tuesday night, November 20 for a betting matchup against the Hornets at the New Orleans Arena in Louisiana, with tip off scheduled for 8:00 PM EST. The Oddsmakers are giving the advantage to the road team in this one, listing the Knicks as a -6 point favorite, while posting the over/under total at 188 points. The Knicks are in first place in the Atlantic Division with a superb record of seven wins and just one loss. They have covered the point spread in three of their four road matchups so far this season and are currently riding a five-game winning streak. They are best in the league shooting the ball behind the arc – making roughly ten three-pointers a night. Meanwhile, the Hornets sit in last place in the Southwest Division with just three straight up victories on the young season compared to five losses. Not terrible, but they are looking up at four other teams ahead of them. They have lost three straight overall and have covered three of their five games played at home. And as an underdog, they are a very respectable 5-2 after seven games. Betting Trends The Knicks are 9-1 against the spread in their last ten games when facing a team with a losing record and have covered four of five when meeting teams in the Western Conference. They have gone over the posted total in five of their last six games played away from Madison Square Garden. The Hornets are 5-1 ATS in their last six games versus Eastern Conference opponents and a stellar 12-2 against the spread in their last 14 games played at home. They have eclipsed the final score in their last four games in a row. Prediction The Knicks are on fire and there isn’t anything in this game that would show me they would lose their momentum. Take the Knicks at -6 for the road win and point spread cover.
