It Is Now Basketball Betting Mode
Feb 6th, 2012 by PJ LaFerla
We have officially closed the book on the 2011/12 NFL season and now that it’s over, basketball should be top of mind in the sports betting community, including the Oddsmakers.
You can expect lines to be sharper as Las Vegas and Off Shore sports books focus on the remainder of the basketball season (which will carry us into mid-June) as there go to sport in hopes of generating revenue.
For the serious sports bettor, nothing should change, as emphasis on finding value is a must! I always laugh when people say they only bet on football. To me that means they don’t have the first clue about this business or making money. There is value in betting basketball – just like football, baseball or any other sport. The key is knowing when it is in front of you and taking advantage of it by making an investment.
There is basketball action every single night, so proper research and analysis is even more important this time a year now that it is the top sport amongst bettors. Be careful, be selective and be smart when approaching games. If you don’t, you will just become another statistical loser and it will happen sooner than later.
I have attached a video interview 60 minutes conducted with legendary sports gambler Billy Walters for your review. Walters, is known to be the top sports bettor in Las Vegas. When watching this video, you should take notice on how he takes a business approach to the industry and only makes wagers when he believes he has found the right value.
Obviously, this was conducted during football season, but I wanted you to see first hand, for yourself, the life of a professional sports bettor…
